what was the task?

The kitchen was old with plenty of space but poorly used. The builders, a family with 2 small children, wanted intelligent furniture, cosiness and convenience in their new kitchen. The client wanted to extend the kitchen into the living room. The builder doesn't.

 

what has become?

1 stage: The dining area has been moved to the wall facing the living room and the cooking area is by the window. The cooking area is well defined and child friendly, offers a view of the table during cooking and has natural light. The furniture and appliances are smart and energy efficient.

2nd stage: In a future second stage, the dining area could be expanded into the living room without changing the cooking area.
